President's Message
Welcome to the home of the Killeen Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. You have landed on the official chapter website. Chartered over 50 years ago as the first organization of the D9 in the Killeen area, the chapter has continued to serve the Killeen, Harker Heights and Copperas Cove areas since 1974. In serving the community we are carrying out the vision of our 22 Founders and our 13 Charter members. Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to make a positive impact and improve our communities.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded by 22 college women in 1913 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. Since its founding, more than 350,000 women have been initiated, and over 1000 chapters located worldwide, which makes Delta Sigma Theta one of the largest African American women’s organizations. Today, the Sorority’s members in the United States and all over the world are dedicated to public service through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:
- Economic Development
- Educational Development
- International Awareness and Involvement
- Physical and Mental Health
- Political Awareness and Involvement
Our National theme for this Biennium is: Forward with Fortitude: Engaging Our Sisterhood, Empowering Our Communities, Elevating Our Impact. We hope to have programs and events that will support our national theme. Watch us work!
Please visit our site as frequently as you would like, as it will be filled with information related to our upcoming events, ways you can participate and our fundraisers that make the work we do and the service we provide possible. You can also follow us on social media.
If you are currently a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, we invite you to attend a chapter meeting. Contact information is listed on the website for Visiting Sorors.
