Delta Academy

Delta Academy, a national initiative of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is a concerted effort to save our young females from the perils of academic failure, low self-esteem, and crippled futures. The Academy provides educational enrichment and personalized attention for African American girls between the ages of 11 and 14.

The primary goal of the Academy is to prepare these young women for full participation in the 21st-century world. The Academy provides young women with supervised and structured experiences that seek to broaden their worldview, improve their academic performance, increase their technological skills, and give them opportunities for leadership and service.

Delta GEMS

Delta Gems serves teenage females, ages 14-18. GEMS was created to foster the success of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy program by continuing to provide educational and cultural enrichment to young ladies throughout high school. Delta GEMS was designed to provide an opportunity for you to interrupt the positive role models by developing long-term mentoring relationship and to help them develop skills to counteract many of the negative aspects of our society. The young ladies participate in developmental program connectivity that are here towards enhancing their knowledge and education regarding health issues, personal growth, career and job training.

The primary goal and mission of the program is to prepare teenage girls for the challenges of the future by helping them reach their highest potential and to assist the young ladies in functioning intellectually, socially, and emotionally in society. The program provides cultural and educational enrichment through activities and workshops focused on Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.
